Lindsay Lohan loses lawsuit versus ‘Grand Theft Auto’ makers

NEW YORK — A New York state appeals court on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit by actress Lindsay Lohan that says the producers of “Grand Theft Auto” used a likeness of her in one of their video games.

A panel of judges in the Manhattan Appellate Division ruled that Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. didn’t use her actual “name, portrait or picture” and therefore didn’t violate her right to privacy.

In the lawsuit, Lohan accused the producers of modeling her physical features, including clothing, shoulder-length blonde hair and voice in “Grand Theft Auto V,” a video game that takes place in the fictional city “Los Santos” where players act as car-stealing criminals.

The court said the depictions deserved First Amendment protection.

“This video game’s unique story, characters, dialogue, and environment, combined with the player’s ability to choose how to proceed in the game, render it a work of fiction and satire,” the judges wrote.

Similar claims against Take-Two by “Mob Wives” television star Karen Gravano also were dismissed in the combined ruling.

A message left with Lohan’s lawyer wasn’t returned. Gravano’s lawyer said they’re exploring their options.

Actress Lindsay Lohan’s community service questioned in court

LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles judge on Wednesday gave a prosecutor more time to investigate whether actress Lindsay Lohan failed to complete her community service requirements in a reckless driving case.

Santa Monica city prosecutor Terry White will present his findings in court on Feb. 18 after disputing Lohan's claim that she completed her sentence while living in London, Lohan's attorney, Shawn Holley, said.

The 28-year-old "Mean Girls" star was ordered to complete 30 days of community service in addition to rehabilitation and therapy as part of a 2013 plea deal after she crashed her Porsche into a dump truck near Los Angeles en route to the set of TV movie "Liz & Dick" and later lied to police.

The former child star known more for her legal troubles than big-screen roles has been living in London where Holley says she has completed her community service.

White alleges Lohan, who was not at the hearing, received credit for a "meet-and-greet" with fans as well as letting two young people shadow her while at work, according to City News Service.

Lohan has been arrested in the past for drunk driving and theft before the 2012 car crash. She has been on probation since 2007 and gone to rehab six times. —Reuters

Lindsay Lohan Dines with Woody Allen in Manhattan

Lohan, 25, dined at Manhattan restaurant Philippe over the weekend with Woody Allen, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

There's no word on whether Lohan, who was recently cast as Elizabeth Taylor for an upcoming Lifetime movie, has plans to work with Allen professionally – but it's probably an opportunity she would welcome.

"They had dinner together [Saturday] in New York," Lohan's rep tells PEOPLE. "Lindsay very much admires Mr. Allen."
