Maine Mendoza shows off fashion style in Japan vacation

Kalyeserye sweetheart Maine Mendoza is rocking fabulous hats and fashionable double layers in Japan this Christmas.

After her success in Eat Bulaga that saw her starring in commercials and an official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the Dubsmash Queen is spending the holidays with her family for a much-needed respite.

But despite the chic outfit, Maine still couldn't help but goof around in the Land of the Rising Sun.

As Maine roams around Japan, her film with Alden Richards "My Bebe Love" is opening across the Philippines as an entry in the MMFF.

Maine Mendoza made a triumphant return to social media on Tuesday, hours after hackers took over her accounts.

The Kalyeserye sweetheart posted a message after taking back control of her Twitter account.

But she has not gotten access to all her accounts quite yet, with her Facebook account being deactivated by hackers and her email account still out of reach.

Anonymous Philippines took responsibility for the hacking in the wee hours of Tuesday, posting messages directing Maine's 2.4 million followers to their social media pages.

Maine Mendoza's sister says Twitter hack a 'desperate move'

Martes nang madaling araw nang ma-hack ng grupong "Anonymous Philippines" ang Twitter account ng Dubsmash Queen at Kalyeserye sweetheart na si Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub.

"We sincerely apologize for the recent intrusion of your beloved Idol's Twitter account. You can rest assure that we don't have any malicious intent towards the said individual or any programs pertaining to that person. We just wanted to send a message to the public, and using Maine's account is one of the easiest way we could find," paliwanag nila.

Dagdag pa ng grupo, "Rest assured that we are doing our best to contact the respectful owner of the said twitter account with the purpose of giving them back their access."

Maine-lookalike Megan Young dresses up as Yaya Dub for Halloween

More than a few fans have noted the resemblance between Marimar star and Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Kalyeserye sweetheart Maine Mendoza.

Megan has in fact admitted that she is a fan of the phenomenal AlDub tandem featuring Maine and Alden Richards.

“Nakakatuwa sila. Sobrang natutuwa ako and it brightens up my day when I see them. Nagso-stalk pa ako sa IG niya and sa IG ni Alden,” Megan said in an interview last August.

It thus came as little surprise when Megan decided to channel Yaya Dub for Halloween this past weekend.

Are Megan and Maine really lookalikes? You be the judge.

Broadway producer wants Maine Mendoza to star in a musical

Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub’s talent has caught the attention of Broadway producer Shea Arender.

The American singer-songwriter wants to talk to Maine, meet her manager, and discuss the prospect of coming up with a musical starring the Eat Bulaga! Kalyeserye sweetheart.

Shea checked out Maine’s Dubsmash clips when a friend from California told him about her.

“I can’t help but laugh constantly watching those clips [from Eat Bulaga!]. I don’t understand everything, but the facial expression alone is amazing," he told PEP.ph  (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in a presscon on Monday, October 19, at Alab Restaurant in Quezon City.

Shea recalls marvelling at Maine’s versatility and passion in “putting smiles on everyone’s faces.”

“One of the most important things is to bring joy and make people happy, and she’s doing a fantastic job!”

So impressed was Shea with Maine that he wants to linger in the Philippines to explore the possibility of producing a musical, just for the other half of the AlDub (Alden Richards-Yaya Dub/Maine Mendoza) love team.

“I want to have a meeting with people managing Maine’s career. It’s not commonly done here—a Broadway musical based on a TV show,” Shea explains.

He figures it would be sheer fun to capture Maine’s natural humor on stage, and not just in front of the camera.

Shea also wants to act alongside Maine.

“I want to keep this open. There’s so much talent here, so many options. I see myself recording, doing an acting project with her," he reveals. —For the full story, visit PEP
