Scarlett Johansson Could Get $66,000 From Nude Photo Hacker

Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and Renee Olstead may get settlement from their personal account hacker. Prosecutors said Christopher Chaney, who pleaded guilty to nine counts of computer hacking, should pay the celebrities a total of $150,000 in compensation and serve 71 months in prison.

Chaney hacked into email accounts of around 50 people in the entertainment industry daily. He managed to get the nude pictures of Johansson which were sent to her then-husband Ryan Reynolds. The 35-year-old man forwarded the pictures to another hacker and two celebrity websites which then started the worldwide circulation online.

Prosecutors are asking a judge to order Chaney to pay Johansson $66,179.46, Aguilera $7,500, Osltead $76,767.35 and Aftra Health Fund $10,374.59. "Indeed, it was apparently such a rush that he continued to do it after the FBI had come and searched his home and seized his computer," attorney Lisa Feldman wrote about the 71-month sentence. "At least once, on an occasion after defendant's residence had already been searched by the FBI, the recipient of the email, a secondary victim, complied."

Justin Bieber grows up, gets even on 'Believe'

LOS ANGELES - Canadian pop star Justin Bieber makes his highly anticipated return with new album "Believe," revealing an edgier, grown-up side to the young star who has gained a worldwide fan base with innocent love songs and baby-faced charms.

"Believe," out on Tuesday, serves as Bieber's highly anticipated sequel to his debut album "My World 2.0," and has had critics buzzing on whether the teen who first found fame on YouTube is a short-lived phenomenon or a long-term staple in the music industry.

Bieber, 18, has become one of the world's biggest stars, with more than 23 million followers on Twitter and 44 million fans on Facebook, after being discovered at the age of 13.

The singer has grown up in the public eye in the last two years, dating 19-year-old Disney Channel star Selena Gomez, who is referenced in the album's electro-dance track "Beauty and the Beat."

But fame has also brought its downside and the track "Maria" addresses Bieber's most adult scandal to date. Last November, Bieber was hit with allegations from 20-year-old Mariah Yeater who claimed that the singer had fathered a child with her after a brief alleged encounter backstage.

Bieber, who vehemently denied the claims and watched Yeater's lawsuit fall apart, sings "She was schemin'...she was draggin' my name through the dirt," before hitting the chorus with "That ain't my baby, that ain't my girl."

The album's producer Mike Posner, who has his own solo career with hits such as "Please Don't Go," worked with Bieber on the debut single, "Boyfriend".

The result is a slow tempo beat with Bieber softly rapping "If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go, I can take you places you ain't never been before." The song, released in March, peaked on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at No. 2.

Older but still young

While "Boyfriend" reveals an older Bieber in a more intimate setting, Posner said "Believe" wasn't meant to show Bieber all grown up just yet.

"I wanted to make songs that were reflective of who Justin was when I met him in the studio, not when he was 13. We're not trying to grow him up too much because he's not 25, he's 18, but he's a young man that's living life and having fun, and the music reflects that," Posner told Reuters.

Moving away from pop, Bieber fuses electronic dance music with R&B throughout "Believe," specifically in tracks such as the club-friendly "All Around The World," which sees Bieber team up with rapper Ludacris. and "As Long As You Love Me" featuring another rapper, Big Sean.

The singer embraces R&B influences in songs such as the romantic "Catching Feelings," "Right Here" featuring fellow Canadian star Drake, and the Motown-inspired upbeat track "Die In Your Arms."

But there are still some throwbacks to the style that made Bieber famous, such as "Fall," a guitar-based love song, and the pop-driven inspirational title track "Believe."

Bieber's journey to the top has fascinated critics, as the singer has found stardom by harnessing the power of the Internet instead of the Disney or Nickelodeon TV platforms that launched stars such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and the Jonas Brothers.

By the age of 16, Bieber had a chart hit with 2010's "My World 2.0," that spurned the single "Baby", followed by 2011's 3D film "Never Say Never," that documented Bieber's journey to pop culture icon and grossed $98 million at the worldwide box office.

New York Times music writer Jon Caramanica drew similarities between Bieber and Timberlake - the former member of N'Sync who broke out of the boy band mold a decade ago with "Justified" and went on to forge a successful solo career.

Caramanica wrote that Bieber "doesn't have Mr. Timberlake's backbone, or his experience, or his raw talent for that matter." He suggested that the young singer is instead finding inspiration in "perhaps the biggest and most conflicted teen star of all time, Michael Jackson."

While Posner understands the comparisons, he said Bieber wants to establish his own credibility.

"I know Justin doesn't want to copy anyone or follow anyone's footsteps. He's very intent on having his own career and carving his own path," he said. — Reuters

Alessandra de Rossi on the elusive Best Actress trophy: 'Ang market ko, wala rito, nandoon sa abroad.'

“Wala akong ine-expect."

“E, as of two weeks ago, pinapasoli na ang gown.

"Sabi ko, ‘Wit, wit, wit! I know, one year na siya sa akin, pero hindi ko pa siya nagagamit.

“’O sige na nga, susuutin ko na siya sa Urian para puwede ko na siyang isoli.’"

Pabirong napaupo naman sa sahig si Alessandra nang sabihin ng PEP na wala namang ibinibigay na Star of the Night award ang Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino.

“Ano?! Walang Star of the Night at saka gift pack from Belo?" biro pa niya.

I’m sure, makakaakyat ako sa stage na ‘yan to display my gown na one year ko ‘tinago."

Dalawa ang pelikula niyang nominado for Best Picture sa Gawad Urian ngayong taon—Busong at Ka Oryang.

Kaya sabi ni Alessandra, "I need to be here. I have to be here.

"Ako lang yata ang artistang dalawa ang pelikula."

NOMINEE FOREVER, NEVER A WINNER?

“I don’t think mananalo ako," sabi niya.

Never naman akong nanalo. So, what’s the point?" sabi niya.

RIGHT CHOICES.

"As in, hindi lang once. Halos lahat ng film festivals, nagta-travel sila," pagtukoy niya sa kanyang mga pelikula.

Dagdag niya, “Suwerte ang pakiramdam ko. At the same time, I thank myself for making the right choices."

Aniya, “Basta may saysay.

“Marami rin naman akong tinatanggihan. In fairness to me, nakaapat na tanggi na nga ako ng pelikula this year."

HER NEW INDIE FILMS.

“I don’t care. Wala… kasi after a while naman, you’re numb na.

"Kahit naman yung mga first time na natalo ako, hindi naman ako nalulungkot.

“Fifteen years?

UNAPPRECIATED LOCALLY?

“Hindi ako ganoon kasi, I give my best," sabi ni Alex.

“And like I’ve said, ang market ko, wala rito, nandoon sa abroad.

"So, ano ang magagawa ko kung dito laos ang beauty ko, pero doon, winner, di ba?"

Sa lovelife niya, pang-international din ba?

“Sabi nila, parang! Pero hindi pa ako naa-attract sa foreigner.

"Sana Pinoy pa rin, pero dapat daw hindi.

“So, we’ll see. We can never tell. Kasi, sa strong ng ugali ko."

NEXT KAPUSO PROJECT?

“Wala…waiting in vain!" biro niya.

“Mga two months puwede pa akong magpahinga.

"Two shows lang naman ang ipinangako sa akin ng GMA.

“Nabigay naman nila ang two shows in a year so dalawa na lang.

"Then after that, kung may renewal, go! Kung wala, e, di go away! Charos!" -- Rose Garcia, PEP

Mr. Bean fans warned over Indonesian film

JAKARTA—Mr. Bean fans in Indonesia have been warned to beware of a locally made spoof horror film called "Mr. Bean Possessed by D.P." that stars an unknown actor that bears a resemblance to the popular character.

The official Facebook page for Mr. Bean, a comedy about a socially awkward man played by the British comedian Rowan Atkinson, said, "We have just heard that there is a new film out in Indonesia with 'Mr. Bean' in the title.

"Please be aware that it has nothing to do with your beloved Mr. Bean or Mr. Rowan Atkinson so please avoid being disappointed."

The producers of "Mr. Bean Possessed by D.P.", starring the well-known actress Dewi Perssik, denied they were attempting to pass the film off as an original Mr. Bean movie.

"We never mentioned Rowan Atkinson's name. We only said the film would star Mr. Bean," producer K.K. Dheeraj, from K2K Productions, told AFP.

"There are so many things called bean–coffee, fruit. We can use the name too, if we want.

"For example, in Malaysia there are Mr. Bean snacks, but that doesn't mean they're Rowan Atkinson's products."

In the movie released last week, "Mr. Bean", played by an unknown British actor, is a mummy-like ghost shrouded in white who becomes entranced by the buxom Perssik, who is commonly known by her initials D.P.

Indonesian media reported last month that Perssik said Atkinson would star opposite her in the film, but the popular actress maintained on Monday that she only ever said "a Mr. Bean" would play the role.

"It's a business trick," she wrote on Twitter in Indonesian.

Dheeraj declined to name the male star of the film, saying only that he is British, while Perssik tweeted: "I don't know his name. I only know him as Mr. Bean."

The original Mr. Bean, a television and film series that brought Atkinson international fame, is popular in Indonesia, where the character is found on mobile phone covers and pencil cases. —Agence France-Presse

Most Work Emails Not Important [STUDY]

You’ve got mail. But don’t worry, it’s probably not that important.

New research found that only one in four emails is essential for work. And only 14% of work emails were considered critically important.

That means nearly two-thirds of the emails in your inbox are nonessential for work. Of those nonessential emails, 11% are personal, and 7% are spam. With more than 60% of emails considered nonessential, the potential for email-based viruses and security breaches are top concerns for companies, according to the research. Increased use of remote and mobile email services only heightens concern.

“What is clear is that the average employee faces a significant challenge in simply processing the information that comes into their inbox and identifying which messages are genuinely business critical,” said Nathaniel Borenstein, chief scientist at cloud-based email management firm Mimecast, which conducted the research. “We often end up working for email, rather than having email work for us.”

“Email will remain a fundamental business tool for many years to come,” Borenstein said. “It is the global standard, but not always the gold standard. It is, therefore, vital that email can continue to develop and adapt as technology and working practices change.”

On a positive note, the study also found that businesses have finally warmed up to social media. Overall, 55% of businesses use LinkedIn, making it the most commonly used social media platform in the workplace. Facebook was the second-most popular service, used by 47% of workers. One in three respondents thought that increased use of social media in the workplace resulted in a decreased use of email. However, according to the survey, social media also increased the potential for information leaks and security breaches.

[No, Really, Facebook Makes Employees More Productive]

The research was based on the responses of 500 information technology decision-makers, 200 from the United States, 200 from the United Kingdom and 100 from South Africa. The research was conducted by Loudhouse Research for Mimecast as a part of the Shape of Email report.

Ashley Biden Is Married

In the same Delaware church where she was baptized, Ashley Biden, the Vice President's daughter, was married Saturday to Philadelphia surgeon Howard Krein.

The couple were wed at the steepled St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church, in Greenville, in a ceremony combining the bride's Catholic traditions and the groom's Jewish ones.

Afterward, the newlyweds and some 200 family and close friends headed to the Biden family's lakeside family home in nearby Wilmington for a reception and dinner served family-style in the backyard, which was personally prepped for the big event by the Vice President. In recent weeks, Biden laid fresh sod and his wife, Jill, had planted special fast-growing vines up the latticework around the party tent.

Biden escorted the bride, who wore Vera Wang, down the aisle and had prepared to be emotional about giving away the youngest of his three children.

"I kept telling Ash, we've got to open up the church and practice walking up and down the aisle so I can handle it," the vice president told PEOPLE in the days leading up to the wedding. He reminisced about the only other time he'd seen his daughter in a veil – at her First Communion. "I think to myself, aw, God, my little girl! This can't have passed so quick."

Krein, 45, will surprise his bride Biden, 30, on Saturday night with their honeymoon destination, a family source said. They will make their home in Philadelphia, "just 28 minutes away" from her parents, by the doting Vice President's estimation.

Krein and Biden, a Delaware state social worker who works with troubled children, have been a couple since the summer of 2010, after meeting through Beau Biden, one of her two older brothers. Krein is the son of Bunny Krein, a physician's assistant in cardiology, and Stanley Krein, a retired insurance executive in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Krein proposed last October, at sunset on a cliff in Big Sur, Calif. – but not before getting "Pop's" permission first, said the elder Biden. "This is the right guy," the VP said. "And he's getting a helluva woman."

Jeffrey Foskett keeps the Beach Boys reunion in harmony

As the Beach Boys tour comes to the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, the man standing between Brian Wilson and Mike Love on stage, Jeffrey Foskett, is a key player.

CHULA VISTA —The Beach Boys'1968 hit "Do It Again" unfolded gradually during an afternoon sound check before the group's evening performance here late last week. In jeans and T-shirts, the band started in on the infectious and rhythmic rock song.

"It's automatic when I talk to old friends," they sang, "the conversation turns to girls we knew when their hair was soft and long and the beach was the place to go."

Then came the sound of Brian Wilson's signature falsetto, launching the group's distinctive harmonies into the musical stratosphere.

But those glorious high notes that define Beach Boys hits such as "California Girls" and "Good Vibrations," weren't coming from Wilson, 69. They were emanating from the mouth of Jeffrey Foskett, the 56-year-old guitarist standing a few feet behind, and strategically between, Wilson and founding member Mike Love.
There is no shortage of veteran bands hitting the road now, but the Beach Boys reunion tour, which lands at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, is the first time Wilson, Love, 71, Al Jardine, 69, and David Marks, 63, have toured together since the 1960s. It marks the Beach Boys' 50th anniversary, and their first album with Wilson in 23 years, "That's Why God Made the Radio."

Since Wilson doesn't quite have the voice — or relationship with the group — he once had, the ability of the Beach Boys to tour depends heavily on Foskett's voice and the role he plays connecting Wilson with his former bandmates.

Foskett was no different than thousands of other musicians who toil in anonymity when he and his cover band were banging out Beach Boys hits in the late 1970s. In a moment of serendipity, Love heard the amateur musician playing in a Santa Barbara bar, and hired him.

For a kid who grew up loving the Beach Boys' music, Foskett said he felt like a former Little Leaguer who got a call to report to Dodger Stadium.

"That's exactly what it is like — and probably as rare too," Foskett said with a gentle smile last week backstage at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre. "How many amateur athletes turn pro? And how many of the thousands of musicians — tens of thousands of musicians — in Los Angeles are going to get into the band that they really loved, and tour with them?"

During the sound check in Chula Vista, Foskett, Love, Jardine and longtime singer Bruce Johnston went over who would sing what parts in the group's intensely complex harmonic arrangements.

But it's not all about music for the Beach Boys' sole "vice principal," the title bestowed on Foskett by the five "principals." When a rack of freshly dry-cleaned flower-print shirts showed up in a dressing room, Foskett dutifully sorted them for his bosses. "Did I mention I also get to do laundry?" he said with a smile.

Laundry detail notwithstanding, Foskett is more than just a musical cog in the Beach Boys juggernaut. He's the only one — including the Beach Boys themselves — who's played with the Beach Boys, the Brian Wilson Band and the Endless Summer Beach Band that backed Love's solo shows.

Surf's up
The Beach Boys formed in Hawthorne in 1961 with brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, their cousin, Love, and two pals, Jardine and Marks. But Marks left in 1963 and Brian Wilson quit touring two years later to focus on work in the recording studio (Johnston came in to round out the touring lineup). The group's creative leader also frequently went MIA in the '70s and '80s. In 1983, Dennis Wilson drowned, and Carl died of cancer in 1998.

The Beach Boys' lyrics often centered on surf, sun, girls and car culture, but it was Brian Wilson's falsetto that propelled their music into the heavens, a vocal manifestation of unbridled teen freedom, joy and heartbreak. But he became one of rock's most notorious casualties after suffering nervous breakdowns stemming from his father's dictatorial control over his sons and the band, Brian's drug use and growing tensions within the group itself.

Wilson spent much of the '70s and '80s in seclusion, emerging only occasionally to perform with or without the other Beach Boys, until he mounted a return to the spotlight in 1998. His once-exceptionally pure and high voice, however, reflected the ravages of what he'd been through.

"Jeffrey is invaluable to keeping the continuity between the various component parts," Jardine, 69, said backstage. "He supports Brian in every possible way."

The trust Wilson has in Foskett, musically and personally, is a crucial element of the current tour. In some ways, he is closer to the group's creative leader than anyone except Wilson's wife of 17 years, Melinda.
"He has Brian's confidence," Jardine said, "and basically kind of makes it possible to have Brian Wilson on the road with us. [Without] that shoulder to lean on, I think it would be very difficult for Brian to tour. And I'm very grateful for that."

Writer and documentarian David Leaf, author of the 1978 biography "The Beach Boys and the California Myth," has followed the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson's solo career closely. It's not that Wilson can't hit the high notes he sang routinely in his 20s, says Leaf, it's just that he often chooses to leave that task to others.
