How the New iPhone Update Can Help You Get Better Sleep
I am one of those people who got to sleep with my phone in my hand. I know I am not alone. It’s just addicting to stay hooked about every other news that pops up, whether it’s Tom Hiddleston giving you weather updates or this new mash-up for Rihanna’s “Work.”
Either way, staying up because of your phone isn’t just how intriguing the latest news is, it also has something to do with how the light on your phone can suppress the melatonin (the hormone responsible for making you sleepy) in your body.
The smart people over at iPhone then developed Night Shift. A new update along with the iOS 9.3, Night Shift adjusts your phone’s light and screen colors so you won’t mess up your melatonin even if you’re updating yourself with everyone’s else Snapchat story at 10 p.m. In the morning, Night Shift will shut off to allow your phone to adjust back to your regular settings.
Watch this Instagram video to know how to activate Night Shift on your phone.
Sweet dreams, everyone!

Rihanna delays tour after illness
NEW YORK, United States—Rihanna on Thursday delayed the start of a world tour days after the R&B star missed the Grammys, citing an illness that affected her voice.
The first scheduled show on Rihanna’s “Anti” tour is now March 12 in Jacksonville, Florida, according to her website and notices from venues.
Rihanna had previously been due to open the tour on February 26 in San Diego, but has postponed eight shows.
The singer abruptly canceled a performance on Monday at the Grammys, the music industry’s top awards.
Her representative said at the time that the Barbados-born singer had fallen ill and was under doctor’s orders to rest her vocal cords to avoid permanent damage.
A representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.
Rihanna is scheduled to end the tour on August 12 in Zurich.
The Barbados-born singer toured extensively in 2013 and then briefly the following year with Eminem, but had since kept a lower profile.
She returned to the scene last month with “Anti,” her first full-length album since 2012.

Wally Bayola overwhelmed by positive response to his Lola Nidora character
—PEP

Australia set to refuse visa for US singer Chris Brown
SYDNEY - Australia intends to refuse a visa for US singer and hip-hop star Chris Brown, a government spokesman said on Sunday, following through on a threat made last week over the singer's history of domestic violence.
Brown, 26, had been due to perform at a series of concerts in four Australian cities in December.
A spokesman for Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said a notice had been sent to the singer indicating the government intends to consider refusal and he had four weeks to respond.
"People to whom these notices are issued have 28 days to present material as to why they should be given a visa to enter Australia," the spokesman said in a statement.
A final decision on whether to issue the visa would be made after considering any material presented on the singer's behalf, the spokesman said.
In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting his then girlfriend, singer Rihanna, and was sentenced in the United States to five years probation, which was lifted in February.
He has been denied entry by Britain and Canada since his conviction.
Australian Minister for Women Michaelia Cash last week urged Dutton to consider refusing Brown entry.
Neighboring New Zealand has already ruled Brown ineligible for entry as a result of Britain refusing him admission, casting doubt over the Antipodean leg of his world tour.

Rihanna’s 25-kg Met dress thrusts Chinese designer Guo Pei into spotlight
BEIJING - Among the opulent outfits on display at last week's Met Gala, one dramatic design stole the show.
Singer Rihanna's canary yellow cape dress, trimmed with fur the color of egg yolk and embroidered with flowers, swept behind her in a seemingly endless train as she arrived for the ball at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the biggest nights in the fashion year.
Social media lit up with chat about the dress, and the fashion magazine Vogue promptly put it on the front cover of its Met Gala Special Edition, catapulting its Chinese creator Guo Pei into the international spotlight.
Guo, a brand designer turned haute couture stylist already well-known in China, says the empress-style gown, one of her most ambitious creations, took some two years to make from its conception in 2008.
"Just designing, choosing the cloth, confirming the color and getting the material woven in Italy took almost half a year, more or less," Guo said at her studio in north Beijing.
The designer, who admitted she did not know much about Rihanna when she received the call from the Grammy Award winner, said the 25-kg (55-pound) outfit was designed to be difficult to wear to reflect the responsibilities and challenges of an empress.
"I was really not convinced that she would be able to wear it because ... it's very heavy," Guo said. "But she later told me 'This piece of clothing is so beautiful' [and] that ... she gained the courage [to wear it]. I really admired that."
The gown is now back with the designer, who hopes to display it in a museum one day.
Guo says she is now getting used to being in the spotlight. "I have no requirement to gain a certain level of fame," she said. "I just want to do really beautiful designs that everyone likes." — Reuters

Rihanna honored as fashion icon of the year
NEW YORK - Donning a scintillating see-through gown, R&B superstar Rihanna has been honored as fashion icon of the year for her sense of style and spunk.
The singer received the award late Monday from the Council of Fashion Designers of America at a soiree in New York's Lincoln Center featuring the industry's elite.
It was here that Rihanna, her revealing sheer Swarovski crystal-encrusted dress leaving little to the imagination, stole the show as she strutted down the red carpet in the provocative Adam Selman creation.
Powerful Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour presented the prize to the 26-year-old recording artist, who has flanked the cover of the prestigious magazine that recently deemed her "fashion's most exciting new muse."
Diane von Furstenberg, the president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America famed for her wrap dresses, admitted as much, telling AFP: "I think she's hot!"
Previous winners include Lady Gaga, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman.
Another of the night's laureates was Joseph Altuzarra, born in Paris to a French father and Chinese-American mother, who took the womenswear designer of the year award. — Agence France-Presse

Court to probe singer Chris Brown's community service records
Brown is scheduled to appear at a hearing on Wednesday in Los Angeles, at which time a judge could decide to revoke the "Don't Wake Me Up" singer's probation.
But Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, told Reuters the allegations are "scurrilous, libelous and defamatory."
"The prosecution has lost their collective minds," Geragos said. "I'm going to seek sanctions against the (district attorney's) office for bringing a frivolous motion."
Brown pleaded guilty in 2009 to beating and punching R&B singer Rihanna and was sentenced to five years probation, 180 days of community service and domestic violence counseling.
The community service involved tasks like cutting grass, picking up trash and removing graffiti. He was allowed to complete it in his home state of Virginia.
"After a thorough review of all documents and evidence submitted to the court it appears there are significant discrepancies indicating at best sloppy documentation and, at worst fraudulent reporting," Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray said in a court filing on Tuesday.
Murray cited three occasions when she said Brown was not at the recorded location of his community service and instead performing or traveling, once on a private jet bound for Cancun, Mexico.
Brown, in another instance, never stripped or waxed the floors at a Virginia community center as a report said he did, according to the 19-page court document.
Murray also accused Virginia authorities of poor and incorrect management of the singer's service and records, and said his community service case should be transferred to Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg in November praised Brown for "actually working diligently to complete all the things the court has required of you."
R&B singer Rihanna and Brown have recently rekindled their romance and are dating again, Rihanna told Rolling Stone magazine last week.
Brown was in a brawl last month with fellow singer Frank Ocean outside a West Hollywood recording studio. A police report indicates he punched Ocean in the face but Ocean said over the weekend he did not want Brown prosecuted. — Reuters
