Muhammad Ali wants Mayweather versus Pacquiao bout next
After Floyd Mayweather Jr. stayed undefeated with a majority decision win against Marcos Maidana Saturday (Sunday, PHL time), Muhammad Ali took to Twitter to say what was on the minds of fight fans everywhere - bring on Manny Pacquiao.
On his official Twitter account, and using #AliTweet to signify that the tweet is in fact originating from the iconic boxer, Ali said, “Congratulations @FloydMayweather. Maybe after you rest up we can see you rumble with @MannyPacquiao! #AliTweet”
However, Mayweather Jr. previously said that he wasn’t impressed with Pacquiao last bout, a unanimous decision win against Timothy Bradley Jr., the second time the two tangled.
"I thought Pacquiao fought like an amateur and I wasn't pleased with his performance," Mayweather Jr. said. "He got the victory the best way he knew how. I'm seeing something totally different in Pacquiao."
He also added that he doesn’t “see the same pop in Pacquiao's shots, the same snap. He is getting tired." While the American connected this to Pacquiao splitting with trainer Alex Ariza, many have also pointed out that the Filipino boxing champ has been moving up in weight classes, which may be to his punching power’s detriment. - AMD, GMA News
