Police seek 'unauthorized person' at Los Angeles airport
LOS ANGELES - Police are searching a terminal at the Los Angeles International Airport for an "unauthorized person" who was seen trying to board a JetBlue flight on Thursday, authorities said.
The flight was scheduled to depart for New York early in the morning, but airport police received a call that an unauthorized person was trying to use a boarding bridge to enter an aircraft, airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles said in an email.
An airline employee reported seeing a person dressed as a pilot trying to board the plane, but when the employee was later told the flight's pilots had not yet arrived he made an emergency report of a possible unauthorized entry of the aircraft, airport police spokesman Rob Pedregon said.
The flight was then delayed while the plane was towed to a remote area of the airfield for a Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad to conduct a search, and police also looked in the terminal for the possible unauthorized person, Pedregon said. — Reuters
