Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean Among Top CMA Nominees


It was a double-barreled morning for Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean on Wednesday, as the country stars appeared on Good Morning America to reveal the nominees in the top five categories for the 46th annual Country Music Association Awards.

Among the names they announced were their own – in the category of male vocalist. Aldean is also up for entertainer of the year, and Bryan is also in the running for album of the year, for his Tailgates & Tanlines.

Taylor Swift is the one woman who made it into the race for entertainer of the year. Besides Aldean, the other nominees are Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton

Female vocalist competitors are Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood.

In addition to Aldean and Bryan, male vocalist nominees are Eric Church, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.

Album of the year nominees, besides Bryan's CD, are Eric Church's Chief, Miranda Lambert's For the Record, Dierks Bentley's Home and Lady Antebellum's Own the Night

Country's biggest night, the 46th Annual CMA Awards, will air live Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 8/7c on ABC.

As they have for the past five years, Paisley and Underwood will serve as hosts.
