Twitter supports bigger photos on iPhone app
Twitter users can now see bigger photos on their timelines on the iPhone, with the newest update to the micro-blogging site's iOS app.
On Thursday (PHL time), Twitter said it will introduce bigger photos.
A separate report on tech site The Next Web said this means "a whole lot prettier" scrolling through content on Twitter, at least for Apple's popular smartphone.
With the update, Twitter's app can now display full-width images.
"It’s a neat improvement to the previous setup, where images would appear as small thumbnails you’d have to click on to enlarge, so the new layout should save you some time besides looking nicer," TNW said. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News

New mobile app lets you take back text messages
Just sent someone a nasty or inappropriate text message and want to take it back? Now, there's an app for that.
Introducing Strings, a messaging app that allows you to take back your
messages by controlling "if and when content is deleted, immediately and
permanently."
Strings can also allow a user to control if other users download photos and videos or share them with others.
The catch, however, is that the app is available only for iOS, at least for now.
Another catch? Your recipients must have the app installed on their
phones, too, so you can't use it if your friend's phone runs on Android
or Windows Phone.
10 Commandments of Sharing (on Strings)
Strings also gives users a list of so-called "Ten Commandments of Sharing":
- You need a smartphone and phone number to use Strings. No number, no use.
- Your profile is not public. Only people who you add to your contact list can share with you.
- The only people who can view your content are the ones you share it with. Add people and remove people anytime.
- No one can download or share your content without your approval. Period.
- If anyone takes screenshots of your content, Strings will detect it and their account will be suspended.
- If you remove yourself from a conversation, anything you said will be removed with you.
- If you delete a photo, video or chat that you created, it will be deleted on every participant’s device.
- If you delete your account, your photos, videos and comments are deleted forever, on all phones and servers.
- What you share will never be analyzed, mined, sold, filed, or otherwise used at your expense.
- Strings is free to use and free of advertising.

New iPhone accessory wakes you with bacon scent
Smartphone owners who would rather wake up to the smell of bacon than to the plain old boring alarm may want this new gadget from an institute dedicated to bacon.
The Oscar Mayer Institute for the Advancement of Bacon is holding a contest where people can win an iPhone dongle that releases a bacon scent, tech site Mashable reported.
Mashable said the dongle plugs into the iPhone's headphone jack, and works with an iOS app that triggers the release of the bacon scent once the alarm sounds.
The app's name? "Wake Up and Smell The Bacon."
It quoted Tom Bick, senior director of integrated marketing and advertising at Oscar Mayer, as saying this will be the "first-ever, bacon-scented mobile device to market, giving bacon aficionados a new reason to welcome their morning alarm clocks.”
Bick added the institute's team "decided to develop a device to give folks what they long for most.”
However, Mashable noted Oscar Mayer is making only a limited number of such devices, and these will not be sold but will be offered through a contest.
"Fans will have to apply for a shot at winning one of the dongles by taking a quiz on Oscar Mayer's website. The contest runs through April 4 and winners will receive their bacon-scented devices within six to eight weeks," it added. — LBG, GMA News
