Eat Bulaga’s ‘Kalyeserye’ officially ends

Fans of the phenomenal hit “Kalyeserye,” a segment in the long-running noontime variety show Eat Bulaga finally reached its end last Saturday, Sept. 3.

The final episode featured the “The Explorer” sisters as they departed for the US. Lola Nidora then entrusted her most precious granddaughter “Maine” to “Alden” while they are away.

The phenomenal love team of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards, who already play themselves in the comedy series, arranged a surprise despedida party for the two grandmas.

The despedida party featured emotional throwback of scenes and stills, which are some of the most remarkable moments in the series.

The show, which started off with Lola Nidora’s objections over Alden’s pursuance of then “Yaya Dub,” ended up earning Lola Nidora’s trust and approval.

The outrageously hilarious show that gave birth to the extraordinary characters Lola Nidora, Lola Tinidora and Lola Tidora played by the comedic trio of Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros, collectively known as JoWaPao, inevitably made some audiences emotional with their final episode. But though the show has ended, the grandmas promised that they shall return.

Lola Nidora just spoked with Alden, Maine is safe, she’s with Alden. They are on their way to the Mansion, and the Lolas are so happy. The Lolas instruct the Rogelio to buy some food. Oh no, the mastermind just called Lola Nidora, not to be happy just yet. The problem of Lola is not yet over.

Here comes Alden & Maine! Maine narrates her escape with the Lolas, who looks worried due to the threats of the kidnapper. Someone is knocking at the door, looking for Nidora, oh, it’s just an agitated postman. Oh no, there’s a sniper outside their house, this is bad.

Alden is buying some fishballs for Maine and Lolas, but the sniper is aim at him. The sniper/mastermind is just near their mansion.

Lola Tinidora went down to talk with the Quandos, the sniper is having a hard time focusing his aim with Lola. Maine went down to meet the Rogelios, the sniper is aims at her. The mastermind calls Nidora, and she hurriedly went down to threaten Maine. Oh no, Nidora was shot by the sniper, she went unconscious…FREEZE!

Is Paolo Ballesteros suspended from ‘Eat Bulaga’?

Fans and netizens have expressed concern over the absence of “Eat Bulaga” mainstay Paolo Ballesteros during the past episodes of the longest-running noontime show in the country.

Ballesteros’ absence from the show has fueled rumors that he has been suspended.

A Bandera report said that netizens have speculated that the possible cause of suspension of the host was his series of Facebook posts where he vented against the production staff who he claimed did not take care of him in a hosting stint.

The Bandera reported that Ballesteros was supposed to host one of the events of the Ad Summit Pilipinas 2016 which was held at Subic Bay Freeport Zone last March 9 to 12.

He did not appear as a host during the March 10 dinner which was supposed to be produced by TAPE Inc.

In a text message sent to Bandera, Malou Choa Fagar of TAPE Inc. kept mum about Ballesteros’ alleged suspension.

AlDub gets featured in Singapore's leading newspaper

The AlDub love story has truly become a global phenomenon, winning the attention of international news and media companies.

Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza land another feature on Singapore’s broadsheet The Straits Times today, November 1.

The newspaper explained how the Kalye-serye love team has a huge mass appeal.

It claimed, “Experts say AlDub has been a huge success because it resonates with Filipinos pining for a return to old-fashioned values as a counter-balance to the crass culture that has become pervasive online.”

“Beyond the story line, the two lead stars appeal to millions because they come off as believable bearers of the values their show represents, unlike many other celebrities, who are regarded as caricatures of excess and superficiality,” it added.

Maine Mendoza to grace two magazine covers in November

Proving that she really is 2015's breakout star and the fastest-rising icon in the Philippine entertainment industry, Dubsmash Queen and Kalyeserye sweetheart Maine Mendoza will grace not one, but two magazine covers this coming November.

After several product endorsements and prior to her upcoming movie on December, Eat Bulaga's “Yaya Dub” will be featured in two fashion and lifestyle magazines.

Last week, “Eat Bulaga: Sa Tamang Panahon” gave a behind-the-scenes preview of Maine's photo shoots.

Meg Magazine and Preview Magazine confirmed over the weekend that the phenomenal girl will be featured on their November 2015 issues.


Before having a sold-out show in the world's largest indoor arena on Saturday, the Dubsmash Queen has been active on-screen with Kalyeserye, as well as several commercials and guesting.

Maine already has two McDonald's commercials with Pambansang Bae Alden Richards.
